Paint Protection Film and ceramic coating are not competitors. They solve different problems. PPF is physical protection — a measurable 165 to 200 microns of thermoplastic polyurethane between the world and your paint. Ceramic coating is chemical protection — a silica layer a few microns thin that bonds with your clear coat and changes how the surface behaves: how it sheds water, how it resists UV, how easily dirt lets go.

What PPF actually does
A quality film is engineered in three layers: a self-healing hydrophobic top coat, a polyurethane core that absorbs impact energy, and an acrylic adhesive designed to release cleanly years later. When a pebble hits filmed paint at highway speed, the film deforms, dissipates the energy, and — on self-healing series — flows back flat with heat.

What ceramic actually does
Cured ceramic is measured on the pencil-hardness scale at 9H — hard enough that the micro-marring of routine washing doesn't bite.
