Every question we actually get asked — answered the way we'd answer a friend, not a lead. Still curious? The concierge (bottom right) never sleeps.

General

Is Carsuit open on Sundays?

Yes — both studios (Worli and Andheri East) are open 10 AM to 8 PM, all days of the week. Weekends are our busiest slots; booking a day ahead on WhatsApp (+91 90444 77377) guarantees your bay.

How do I get an exact price for my car?

Every price on this site is a genuine 'starting from'. The exact figure depends on your car's size, paint condition and the coverage you choose — confirmed after a free 15-minute inspection at either studio, or from photos on WhatsApp for a close estimate.

Does Carsuit offer pickup and drop?

Yes — valet pickup and drop is available across South Mumbai from the Worli flagship and across the western suburbs from Andheri East, on request with your booking.

What is the Carsuit Protect warranty?

Carsuit Protect™ is our written e-warranty programme. Every PPF and coating install is registered digitally with your name, vehicle, film series and warranty period (3 to 5+ years for PPF) — so your cover doesn't live on a fading paper bill.

Is PPF worth it on a new car in Mumbai?

The best time to film a car is before Mumbai touches it. New paint is defect-free, so the film locks in factory condition — protecting resale value and skipping the paint-correction step. Most of our full-body installs are cars under one month old.

Is PPF worth it in Mumbai's monsoon?

Yes — arguably nowhere more so. Mumbai rain carries acidic pollutants and coastal salt that etch unprotected clear coat, and waterlogged roads throw grit at your paint like sandpaper. PPF is a sacrificial 165–200 micron barrier: the film takes the damage, your paint doesn't.

How much does PPF cost in Mumbai?

At Carsuit, full-body PPF starts at ₹55,000 for a hatchback on White Series and goes up to ₹2,00,000+ for Ultimate Series on luxury cars. Partial kits start at ₹12,000. Mumbai market pricing for premium film runs ₹66,000–₹2,80,000 — beware of ₹15,000 'full front' offers using unknown film that yellows within a year.

How long does PPF last?

Our series carry written warranties of 3 to 5+ years against yellowing, peeling, and bubbling. With sensible care — pH-neutral washes, no automated brush car washes — the film routinely outlives its warranty.

Does PPF damage the paint when removed?

Professionally installed film on healthy factory paint removes cleanly. That's precisely why installation quality matters: bad adhesive work by untrained shops is where removal horror stories come from. Our applicators are trained, and removal is always done in-studio with heat.

PPF vs ceramic coating — which should I choose?

PPF is physical armor: it stops chips and scratches. Ceramic is chemical armor: gloss, hydrophobics, and easier washing — but it will not stop a stone chip. On a new car we recommend PPF on impact zones (or full body) and ceramic on glass and wheels. Many clients take The Full Suit bundle for exactly this reason.

How long does installation take?

Full-body installation takes 3–5 days depending on the car and series; partial kits take 1–2 days. We never compress cure time to rush a delivery.

Ceramic Coating

What does 9H hardness actually mean?

9H refers to the pencil hardness scale — the coating resists scratching from a 9H graphite pencil, the hardest grade. In practice it means wash-induced swirls and light abrasion that would mark bare clear coat don't mark a cured ceramic layer.

Ceramic coating vs PPF — what's the difference?

Ceramic is chemical protection: gloss, hydrophobics, UV and stain resistance. PPF is physical protection: 165–200 microns of urethane that absorbs stone chips. Ceramic cannot stop a chip; PPF costs more. The engineering answer for Mumbai: PPF on impact zones, ceramic everywhere else.

How long does ceramic coating last in Mumbai's climate?

Our coatings are warrantied for 1, 3, or 5 years by tier. Coastal humidity and UV are exactly what the chemistry is built for — but maintenance matters: pH-neutral washes and an annual inspection keep the hydrophobics sharp.

Can I wash the car normally after coating?

Yes — hand washes with pH-neutral shampoo. Avoid automated brush washes; they micro-mar any surface, coated or not. Skip washing for the first 7 days while the coating fully cures.

Is graphene coating actually better than ceramic?

For Mumbai, measurably: graphene's anti-static surface attracts less dust, its lower thermal absorption reduces water-spot etching on hot panels, and our graphene tier carries a 5-year warranty versus 3 for ceramic. It costs roughly 50% more.

Wrap vs repaint — which is better?

A quality wrap costs less than a premium repaint, installs in days not weeks, protects the paint underneath, and reverses cleanly when you sell — preserving factory paint and resale value. A repaint is permanent, flags the car as 'repainted' at valuation, and can't be undone. For color change, wrap wins in almost every case.

Is wrapping legal in India?

Yes — wraps are legal; a change of the car's registered color requires an RTO endorsement, which is a straightforward process we guide every full-color-change client through. Accent wraps and chrome delete that keep the base color don't require it.

How long does a wrap last?

Cast Avery Dennison and 3M films are rated 5–7 years outdoors. Mumbai sun and rain are factored into those ratings. Garage parking and hand washes extend it.

Will a wrap damage my paint?

Cast film on factory paint removes clean — that's the point. Damage stories come from budget calendared vinyl or paint that was already resprayed poorly. We assess paint health at inspection and tell you honestly before we wrap.

Can I wrap over PPF?

We generally recommend choosing one: colored PPF gives you color change and 200-micron protection in one layer, and is usually the smarter spend than wrap-over-film.

Detailing & Polishing

Service page →
What causes swirl marks?

Ninety percent of swirls come from washing: dirty cloths, single-bucket washes, automated brush machines, and roadside dusters. They're micro-scratches that scatter light. Machine polishing removes them; better wash habits (or our maintenance plans) keep them gone.

How often should I detail my car in Mumbai?

A full correction is typically a once-a-year event; maintenance washes should be monthly and done properly. Mumbai's dust, humidity, and monsoon fallout make quarterly professional maintenance the realistic minimum for a car you care about — which is exactly what our quarterly plan covers.

Is machine polishing safe for my paint?

With a depth gauge and a trained hand, yes. Clear coat is 35–50 microns; each correction stage removes 2–5. We measure before and after and we tell you the numbers. Studios that don't own a gauge are polishing blind.

What's included in the Forever-New membership?

Twelve studio washes, two machine polish sessions, an annual coating refresh, PPF and coating health reports, member pricing on every other service, and access at both Worli and Andheri East. It's the cheapest way to own a car that never looks older than new.

Will a repainted panel look different from the rest of the car?

Not if it's done right. Computerized color matching gets the formula; blending into adjacent panels and machine finishing get the texture. Our QC standard is simple: if you can find the repainted panel in sunlight, we haven't finished.

Repaint or wrap for a color change?

Wrap if you may ever want the original color back or care about resale documentation; paint if you want a permanent, any-finish result including candy and pearl effects that film can't fully replicate. We do both, so our advice is unbiased — ask us with your specific car.

How long does a full repaint take?

Two to three weeks done properly — strip, prep, spray, bake, and finishing all have minimum times. Anyone promising a full body in four days is skipping one of them.

Does repainting affect resale value?

A documented, quality repaint on a damaged car raises its value; an undocumented or poor one lowers it. We provide full documentation including paint-depth reports, which valuers respect.

Are dark sun films legal in India?

The Supreme Court mandates minimum 70% VLT on windscreens and 50% on side glass. Quality ceramic films achieve serious heat rejection within those limits — that's the entire point of paying for ceramic instead of dyed film. We install compliant films only.

How much cooler does the cabin actually get?

Premium ceramic film rejects a large share of infrared solar energy — cabins cool faster and the AC works measurably less. We demo films with an IR meter in-studio so you feel the difference on your own palm before buying.

Will film bubble or turn purple?

Dyed bazaar films do. Ceramic films are warrantied against bubbling, peeling, and color shift — typically for life. That's the difference between ₹1,500 and ₹6,000 done once.

Customization

Will modifications void my car's warranty?

Cosmetic work — interiors, lighting on proper harnesses, bolt-on kits, wraps — doesn't touch your mechanical warranty. We wire electrical additions through independent fused circuits precisely so dealer service has nothing to object to.

Can you make my Fortuner look like a Legender?

Yes — the Fortuner-to-Legender conversion is one of our signature builds (it's in our portfolio). Front and rear conversion, lighting, and badging, finished to factory panel gaps.

Do you do one-off custom projects?

That's the favorite part of the job. Bring references — a color, a car you saw in Dubai, an interior from a concept photo — and we'll spec what's achievable, honestly, with a written quote.

Do you service cars under manufacturer warranty?

Yes. Under the Right to Repair framework, independent servicing with documented genuine/OEM parts doesn't void your warranty. We keep the paper trail dealer-clean.

Which brands do you service?

All mainstream and premium marques. For specialist European diagnostics we use licensed scan platforms; if a job genuinely belongs at a dealer — certain warranty claims, recalls — we say so.

Can I wait at the studio during service?

Yes — both studios have a lounge, and you can watch your car in the bay. Or drop it in the morning via our pickup service and get it back detailed by evening.

Remapping & Performance

Service page →
Is remapping safe for my engine?

A conservative Stage 1 on a healthy engine, tuned with logging, stays well inside component limits — manufacturers themselves sell the same engine at multiple power levels via software. The risks come from ₹5,000 generic file flashes with no logging. That's not what happens here.

Will a remap void my warranty?

It can be detected by dealer tools, so on a car under manufacturer warranty we advise waiting or accepting the trade-off — we'll tell you honestly rather than pretend otherwise. We archive your stock map and can restore it any time.

How much power will my car gain?

Turbo petrols typically gain 20–30% torque on Stage 1; turbo diesels similar; naturally aspirated engines see modest 5–8% gains and are usually better served by intake/exhaust. We quote expected figures for your exact engine before you commit.

Does remapping affect fuel economy?

Driven identically, a remapped turbo engine often returns equal or better economy because it makes torque lower in the rev range. Driven like you just remapped it — no.

Hydro Dipping

Service page →
How durable is hydro dipping?

As durable as the clear coat over it — which is the same 2K automotive clear used on car bodies. Alloys take kerb rash like painted alloys would; interior parts essentially last forever.

Can you match a pattern I found online?

Usually yes — thousands of transfer films exist, and custom printing is possible for larger runs. Bring the reference; we'll source the closest film and show you a sample dip.

Accessories & Bodykits

Service page →
Are bigger alloys bad for my car?

Beyond a size or two up, yes — ride quality, speedo error, and rubbing become real. We'll tell you the largest size that works for your car's geometry and Mumbai's roads, even if it means selling you a smaller wheel.

Do aftermarket LED headlights pass RTO rules?

Properly aimed projector retrofits within wattage norms do; bare LED bulbs in halogen reflectors don't (and blind everyone). We only fit setups that are both brighter for you and legal on paper.

Bike Protection

Service page →
Does PPF work on matte bike paint?

Yes — with matte-specific film that preserves the sheen level exactly. Putting gloss film on a matte tank is the classic amateur mistake; we stock matte PPF for exactly this reason.

Which bikes do you work on?

Everything from a Royal Enfield Hunter to a BMW S1000RR — our portfolio includes Triumph Speed 400, Himalayan 450, Hayabusa, ZX-6R, Harley-Davidson X440, and Aprilia builds. Scooters too — we've filmed Burgmans and Dios.

How much does bike PPF cost?

Tank and high-impact kits start at ₹6,000; full-body coverage on a fully faired bike starts at ₹18,000 and varies with panel count. Ceramic coating for bikes starts at ₹5,000.
